CALL FOR PAPER: NATIONAL SEMINAR ON CROSS CULTURAL COUNSELING
UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA SARAWAK – 24-25 MEI 2011

PERKAMA is pleased to invite you to present papers at the National Seminar on Cross-Cultural Counseling. A total of 60 Working Papers will be presented in this seminar and 4 plenary papers will be presented. Please submit your abstract as soon as possible before the deadline below.
Counsellors today are working very hard to develop relationships in enhancing trust and sense of confidence in their helping process. Today, clients who need counseling services come from diversed backgrounds that need a counselor to understand and know the various methods or ways of handling the presenting problems.
Counsellors have to prepare themselves not only with the theories and practices learned in the lecture halls, but be proactive in establishing themselves to accomplish an effective helping process. Cross-cultural issues in Malaysia today involves not only the various races and religions, but also includes other social related issues encompassing gender, mixed marriages, children, sexual orientation, languages and culture, new technological impact and challenges, which can sometimes a major concern of the community.
1Malaysia introduced by the Prime Minister of Malaysia is in line with the enhancement of unity among diverse races,culture and beliefss in Malaysia. These unique varieties and diversities requires a counselor to explore and understand in depth on the issues of multicultaralism in counseling and helping relationships.
This National Seminal on Cross Cultural Counseling provides an opportunity for all professionals, practitioners, educators and students in counseling to share their ideas and thought. This intellectual platform will contribute to the development of counseling profession in Malaysia. PERKAMA again is proud to present this one of its kind intellectual activity and humbly invites all professionals, practitioners, educators, students in counseling to convene and share your ideas and knowledge.

Notification of Acceptance of abstracts: 1 April 2011 (Friday)

Seminar Date: 24-25 May 2011
Important Note: Abstracts MUST be submitted in dual version (Bahasa Melayu and English) and not more than 250 words only.
